IDC Security Forum Betting on trust in an era of global risks

Digital Event | | February 17, 2022

It is too early to assess the overall impact of the pandemic but one consequence is already clear - accelerated digitization and the associated higher number of sophisticated cyber-attacks. The topic of digital security and resilience has always been a recurring one in businesses, but its importance will only grow in the coming years.

On the corporate side, this trend is reflected in the size of the budgets they are spending on cybersecurity - according to IDC research it will grow by 20% over the next two years. Companies are realizing that the key question with cyber-attacks is not if they will come, but when they will come (and how they will stand up to them).

But higher safety standards also affect the behaviour of customers, who build trust in the brand based on safety, without which no long-term business relationship can work.

Cybersecurity and trustworthiness are not only this year's challenges. How to prepare for them?

Questions and suggestions for discussion

  • How does the concept of zero trust help in risk management and how should organisations set their strategies accordingly?
  • Does the adoption of cloud computing bring with it a higher incidence of vulnerabilities and force organizations to accept more risks?
  • To what extent do new and powerful threat detection and response tools contribute to risk reduction?
  • Does the convergence of computer networks and cybersecurity take more the form of a clash between network engineers and security specialists or one big happy family?
  • A more agile and secure IoT and the converging worlds of operations and information technology.
  • Navigating the murky waters of data sovereignty and conflicting data regulations.
