Developing a Solid Hybrid Cloud Foundation to Thrive as a Data-Driven Business

October 4, 2022

Overview

Developing a Solid Hybrid Cloud Foundation to Thrive as a Data-Driven Business

Data is the currency of a digital-first organization. Becoming an intelligent organization and making data a competitive differentiator is high on European CEO's agenda. As part of their “intelligent organisation” objectives, companies are developing data programs, analytics technologies, skills, and strategies.

But becoming a data-driven organization is not accidental. There are challenges at technology, process, data, and culture level.

According to IDC research, enterprises cite data silos, lack of granular visibility, poor data quality, inappropriate technology architecture and tools, lack of skills as well as governance and compliance as top barriers.

Ad hoc adoption of cloud and poor integration with on-premises environment has resulted in data sprawl and limited visibility of data.

Other significant challenges are lack of trust in insights, lack of buy-in from key stakeholders, and complexities in integrating multiple sources of data for effective insights. As a result, 80% of time is spend on preparing, governing, searching, and managing data and 20% on analytics.

It is time to flip this ratio. C-Suites need to reimagine their data infrastructure and build a solid hybrid cloud foundation to ensure they can meet the data-driven business needs without compromising on costs, governance, and compliance.

There is a strong determination to deliver insights at scale and thrive in the digital economy. According to IDC's 2021 Multicloud Survey, European organizations have identified data integrity and quality, data availability, data mobility, resilience, and consistent data experience as top 5 capabilities essential for their data-driven journeys.

The journey to intelligence is a continuous one that requires a new generation of hybrid cloud infrastructure, data management services, and analytics platform that work in an automated and integrated manner to deliver speed, efficiency and trusted data-driven future.
