The New Wave of AI: Why, What and How?

In Association with

21% of EMEA organizations have already made plans to invest in generative AI in 2023/2024; and a further 53% are exploring potential generative AI use cases.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 6 months, you’re already aware of generative AI. Chances are, you’ve already tried a service like ChatGPT, DALL-E, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion. After all, in the first three months after its introduction in November 2022, ChatGPT reached an astounding 100M users.

Overview

If we believe some commentators, generative AI is going to steal all our jobs (or destroy humanity). Some others are saying that it might be regulated out of useful existence. The answer, of course, is somewhere in between: some work will change, and regulation will have an impact, too. One thing is already clear: organizations that try to completely ignore generative AI technologies will be at a disadvantage.

Of course, in almost every organization, someone, somewhere is already using generative AI – even if the leadership team doesn’t know about it, or doesn’t have a clear usage policy or strategy in place. The genie is out of the bottle, and we need to respond.

So, the important questions for every organization starting out on the generative AI journey are: where are the real opportunities presented by generative AI? How will organizations implement generative AI for these use cases, and ensure that these technologies are used appropriately and responsibly? And what capabilities do organizations need to have, in order to deliver ROI on generative AI investments?
