Abstract

This report provides an Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ) contextualization of the IDC FutureScape: Worldwide Manufacturing 2017 Predictions (IDC Manufacturing Insights #US41837317, November 2016). Each prediction (and its APEJ implication) is presented based on the timeline to mainstream, cost/complexity to implement, and the level of organizational impact. The drivers influencing investment in worldwide manufacturing IT are global in nature and also relevant to APEJ.

According to IDC Manufacturing Insights, exploiting new markets and customer segments, reducing operational costs, and accelerating product innovation are the top 3 priorities for the APEJ manufacturing community.
