2016 Global IoT Decision Maker Survey: New Zealand Results

Author: Monica Collier Research Manager, Telecommunications
On-line Presentation
Abstract

This IDC study presents key findings on enterprise Internet of Things (IoT) deployments and deployment plans in New Zealand from IDC's 2016 Global IoT Decision Maker Survey. The survey includes 162 respondents from New Zealand and covers a broad category of topics related to enterprise IoT deployments, including levels of familiarity with IoT, views on the IoT's importance to organisations, deployment plans and use cases, budgets, adoption drivers and inhibitors, perceptions of vendors in the market, and vendor selection criteria.

"A key theme observed in this survey is that buyers are focused on managing upfront costs," says Monica Collier, research manager, telecommunications, IDC New Zealand. "As the IoT market continues to evolve, successful IoT vendors will be those that look at alternative commercial models to meet customer needs profitably."
