This IDC Government Insights Pivot Table provides an overview of IT spending trends and forecasts for the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) public sector for 2016–2021 (base year 2016).

This IDC Government Insights Pivot Table presents our best estimates and forecasts for the Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) public sector IT spending. The document provides IT spending forecasts for the following subindustries: defense, environmental protection, housing and community amenities, economic affairs, general public services, public order and safety, education, health, recreation, culture and religion, and social protection.

This document also provides industry and technology definitions and methodology. Country segmentations include APEJ countries (Australia, Hongkong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, People's Republic of China [PRC], Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, and the rest of APEJ).

In 2017, in terms of absolute IT spend numbers, PRC, Australia, India, and South Korea in the APEJ region have shown a larger hardware, IT services, and software spend compared with the spend of other countries in the region. Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand are the top 3 countries with higher IT spend per capita, helping their respective governments improve their public sector strategies and road maps to increase their countries' spend per capita.
