This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights the top motivations for enterprise SD-WAN adoption in Australia. The document contains data from IDC's Asia/Pacific Next-Generation Networks and Communications Survey, which was completed in January 2018. IDC's Asia/Pacific Communications Service Provider practice conducted this survey to understand enterprise preferences and behaviour with respect to hybrid network and software-defined services adoption. The overall goal of the survey was to identify the network and communication trends in the region and how organisations are approaching technologies, such as SD-WAN.
"The adoption of new technologies, such as cloud, big data and analytics, and mobility, by enterprises as a part of their digital transformation journeys is putting a lot of strain on legacy networks. The survey clearly highlights that organisations in Australia are increasingly turning to software-defined solutions, such as SD-WAN, to overcome the challenges presented by the traditional network architecture," explained Nikhil Batra, senior research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Communications Service Provider practice.
