Abstract

This IDC Tech Buyer Presentation looks at the priorities and strategies in place relating to operational technology (OT) security for oil and gas companies in Asia/Pacific. As operational assets, networks and systems are increasingly connected, aligning approaches to cybersecurity and physical security to manage the risks faced from an increased threat surface, which is critical to mitigating business risk. This report looks at the Asia/Pacific results for oil and gas companies from IDC's 2018 Insight's Global IT/OT Convergence and OT Security Survey conducted in May 2018.

"Operational security approaches that bring together cybersecurity and physical security and align that with cybersecurity approaches of enterprise are an increasingly critical focus area for oil and gas companies," says Emilie Ditton, AVP, IDC Energy Insights Asia/Pacific excluding Japan (APEJ).
