This IDC Survey highlights the preferences, behaviour, and other factors impacting enterprise network and communication investments in Australia and New Zealand. The document contains data from IDC's Asia/Pacific Next-Generation Networks and Communications Survey, which was completed in January 2018. IDC's Asia/Pacific Communications Service Provider practice conducted this survey to understand enterprise preferences and behaviour with respect to hybrid network and software-defined services adoption, with a view to identify the network and communication trends in the region and how organisations are approaching technologies such as SD-WAN.
"Digital transformation of the broader business impacts the network in several dimensions, and the migration to 3rd Platform technologies, such as cloud and mobility, is creating a lot of strain on the enterprise networks. As a result, enterprise preferences, behaviour, and initiatives are fast changing, and organisations are adopting next-generation technologies, such as software-defined networking and virtual network services, to address some of their network challenges. This survey taps into the pulse of enterprises in Australia and New Zealand to establish a relationship between their business goals, the impact on their networks, and internal technology initiatives," explained Nikhil Batra, senior research manager, IDC Australia.
