Smart devices are getting an increasingly hefty price tag on them. Beyond the common considerations such as battery life, camera, color, and size, there are other factors contributing to the cost of the product. In this report, we take at one of the most overlooked intrinsic value of a smart device — mobile security.
"It is undeniable that we rely heavily on mobile devices in our everyday activities. From the moment that we open our eyes, we input tons of data, personal data, into these devices, some unknowingly," says Jeff Xie, senior market analyst on blockchain and security research, IDC Asia/Pacific. "Not only do users need to consider the security features of these devices, they should also understand that they have complete control over how data is protected," adds Xie.
