On-line Presentation

Abstract

IDC's 2018 Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) IT Services End-User Survey was held from February to April 2018 and covered enterprise preferences and priorities around technology vendor sourcing and management, security services, 3rd Platform technologies, innovation accelerators, and digital services. This report explores the current state of adoption of robotic process automation (RPA) and cognitive automation among line-of-business (LOB) and IT teams, highlighting the key differences in perspectives between IT and LOB respondents.

"As LOBs in an enterprise increasingly cofund and are involved in digital transformation projects, there is an inherent need to strengthen the synergy between LOBs and IT teams, especially when driving enterprisewide long-term strategic initiatives, such as RPA. The strength of the synergy dictates the speed of scale, maturity of cognitive automation within the RPA ecosystem, and the true transition to the digital workforce," says Rijo George Thomas, senior market analyst, IDC Asia/Pacific Cloud and IT Services Research.
