Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight highlights the intelligent operations features that are being deployed in enterprise datacenters to create smart autonomous multicloud architectures. Enterprise datacenter infrastructure investment priorities can be classified into three broad categories: priorities that promote cost containment, smart autonomous datacenter operations, or agile multicloud deployments. IDC performed a study of 715 Asia/Pacific-based enterprises to better understand their infrastructure investment priorities and those that promote smarter autonomous datacenter operations in particular. Many enterprises are in the early stages of deploying intelligent operations features in their datacenters, with most reporting the use of basic technologies. However, majority of enterprises are using some of the more advanced technologies. IDC believes that investments in technologies that develop smart autonomous datacenter operations will increase as enterprises adopt complex and sophisticated multicloud datacenter architectures from core to edge. This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on data from IDC's 2019 Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) Services Survey.
