This IDC Presentation is part of IDC New Zealand's 3rd Platform Heatmap series. Based on IDC's Asia/Pacific IT Services Survey, 2019, this report provides an overview of the New Zealand cloud market and the trends shaping it, as well as a breakdown of IDC's New Zealand cloud forecast. It discusses points of interest such as organisations' application modernisation plans and the rise of managed cloud services providers.
"Organisations are looking to cloud managed services providers to manage their cloud environments to circumvent skills gaps, to support technology adoption, and help achieve business outcomes," says Chayse Gorton, market analyst, ANZ IT services.
"They will increasingly look to cloud managed services providers that can offer capabilities greater than those that public cloud providers offer, such as providers that can aggregate multiple public clouds and ensure integrated service-level agreements (SLAs)," he adds.
Gorton advises providers to "shift the cloud conversation toward business-oriented metrics. IT providers must communicate how they can help business achieve outcomes such as agility improvements and creating new revenue streams through new revenue-generating products and services."
