On-line Presentation

The cybersecurity markets in Asia/Pacific and Japan are experiencing a lot of changes. This will accelerate in the future, requiring new approaches to securing data, applications, and identities and thereby avoiding both lost businesses, punitive fines, and brand-impacting headlines.

Innovation is at the core of what businesses are seeking, but this comes with risks. At the same time, computing power has shifted to cloud and offsite/offshore offerings, which creates a whole new security paradigm.

Exacerbating this is the increase in hacks of all kinds: script kiddies, organized criminal groups, state-sponsored hacking. The variety and voracity of malware and advanced persistent threats are driven by both economic and nationalistic desires. Customers expect organizations to be secure, look after their personal data, and not become part of any form of payment fraud.

When we finally consider the lack of readily available security talent in the region, it becomes apparent that things must change.

This presentation provides the IDC Asia/Pacific viewpoint of how these globally relevant predictions will impact local markets, providing end users with advice on what to consider as well as how to best think about and deal with cybersecurity for tomorrow and beyond.
