"Communication SPs (comm. SPs), since their inception, have always collected and analyzed massive troves of data. In many ways, the amount of data that a comm. SP has in its possession is the envy of many industry players, but it has struggled to analyze and monetize this data because of stringent regulations around the collection, storage, and usage of customer data. Comm. SPs have been saddled with numerous other challenges that have hampered their efforts at real-time analytics, including a vast number of legacy systems, proprietary hardware, and software combinations that meant that the data could not easily be collated and analyzed.
