IDC surveyed 900 CIOs and line-of-business (LOB) decision makers in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) as to their priorities, trends, preferences, and challenges relating to agile development, DevOps adoption, open source software, microservices, containerization, customer experience, big data, and business analytics. This survey summary report focuses primarily on issues relating to DevOps, customer experience, and big data trends.
The survey findings indicate that software development efficiency is a great driver of DevOps adoption and that internal culture and training issues remain the biggest obstacles to wholesale adoption. In terms of customer experience goals, investments in big data and analytics projects are increasingly common. However, data quality and integration continue to be challenges in this respect.
