Abstract

The sudden surge in working from home, brought about by the COVID-19 situation across the globe is having a profound effect on many business and organizational operations, some positive, some not so. For IDC, the transition has been relatively smooth, with limited interruption to business operations, due to the collaboration and remote access tools already in place.

This exercise captures how the enforced working-from- home situation has impacted how IDC employees communicate and collaborate and the use of collaboration tools. “People tend to use the most readily available tool," says Hugh Ujhazy, Vice President, IoT and Telecommunications, “Its more about simplicity than anything else when it comes to collaboration. The easier and more available to use, the more it gets used," adds Ujhazy.
