Telecom Services Tracker Update: Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Data Traffic Across Fixed and Mobile Services, 1H20
Abstract
Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) has spearheaded data traffic growth, registering a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35% from 2016 to reach 633 exabytes (EB) in 2010. Fixed data dominates the traffic volume; however, mobile data is gaining traction in the region. The rise of smart devices, rural data connection density, and increased over-the-top (OTT) content usage and remote working requirements are the instrumental factors driving data traffic in the region. Traffic is also gradually becoming a function of connected Internet of Things (IoT) devices with the growing IoT use cases.
This IDC Presentation provides a historical and forecast view on data traffic in APEJ fixed and mobile services and throughout the different markets in the region, as well as the key trends and factors influencing the forecast.
