What Datacenter Designs or Technologies Are Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) Enterprises Investing in to Improve Energy Efficiency?
Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight identifies an expected increase in median rack density in enterprise datacenters by 2022. It also highlights the range of new internal datacenter designs and technologies that are being deployed in enterprise datacenters to improve energy efficiency. IDC carried out a study of 376 organizations based in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) to better understand the attitudes of technology buyers toward datacenter facility–related technologies. Median rack density in enterprises is expected to increase significantly by 2022, with a corresponding demand for a much greater proportion of very high-density racks. This requirement is being driven by next-generation applications requiring modern infrastructures as enterprises digitally transform to become future enterprises. This IDC Survey Spotlight is based on data from IDC's 2020 APEJ Datacenter Operational Survey.
