Moving from Crisis to Recovery: Why Technology Is Critical to Success - An Asia/Pacific Regional Perspective

By: Sandra NgGroup Vice President, Practice Group, IDC Asia/Pacific

Abstract

This IDC Market Perspective outlines IDC’s new crisis-to-recovery framework. In the last four to six weeks, an increasing pool of organizations in Asia/Pacific have begun their recovery journeys. The move from response to recovery presents new sets of challenges and opportunities for organizations. Competing in the COVID-19 and post-COVID-19 worlds will require organizations to be well-prepared with new business/operating models, capabilities, and a different mindset/culture. Technology suppliers need to recognize where their customers are on this journey, and the gaps they are trying to address in the immediate COVID-19 world and longer-term post-COVID-19 world, so as to help their customers flatten the curve through the use of technologies.

"Flattening the recessionary curve is a must-do for organizations and is the beginning of returning to growth. The technology industry is expected to contribute significantly throughout this journey and those who are able to enable their customers to successfully transition to the permanent state will thrive in the Next Normal," says IDC Group Vice President, Sandra Ng.
