How Early Do Organizations in India Introduce Security in Their Software Development Life Cycle?

By: Sandeep SharmaResearch Manager, APeJ – Software

Abstract

Application vulnerability has often posed a serious setback for the security efforts, resources, and finances of organizations; however, most enterprises have adopted a reactive approach toward application security and have implemented security-related measures only after the application has been developed and is in production. The idea of "shifting security left" in the software development life cycle (SDLC) has gained ground recently, with organizations leveraging security best practices, methodologies, and tools during the SDLC phase, such as planning, design, and implementation.

This report aims to provide a glimpse of the mindset of organizations in India toward introducing security across different phases in their SDLC.
