In facing COVID-19, the drive by the respective governments in Asia/Pacific to embrace digital is obvious. This roundtable, conducted by AWS, could evolve with certain factors that are essential for seamless digital transformation for national governments in the region. Though typical discussion would center around digital technologies, attributes such as change management, people, and culture are set to play a crucial role in the successful adoption of cloud and deployment of other digital technological solutions.
"This pandemic scenario demands two years of digital transformation in two months. Asia/Pacific governments were quite resilient in their handling the COVID-19 crisis management, to the extent of issuing new policies or amending the existing ones to empower citizen accessibility. Regional governments approach the outbreak not as a barrier but as a realization that the future economy will be more and more digital based. Ecosystem-based digital solutions will accelerate their race toward next normal," says Manoj Vallikkat, research manager, IDC Asia/Pacific Healthcare Insights.
