"SD-WAN showed high growth even during the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic year in APEJC because the critical role of broadband access was accentuated as a result of the situation. SD-WAN adoption in the region continues to be driven by a combination of the migration of applications and data to the cloud, introduction of cloud-native architecture and technologies, proliferation of fiber-optic transport and access infrastructure, and digital transformation (DX) of enterprises, industries, and organizations," says Bill Rojas, adjunct research director, IDC Asia/Pacific. "The level of participation and competition in the SD-WAN marketplace in Asia/Pacific by local hardware- and software-centric SD-WAN vendors as well as global players is further driving adoption as enterprises and their distributed workforces continue to seek optimized and agile connectivity and enhanced security," he adds.
