The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted numerous economies worldwide. In this regard, small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) have been affected, too. However, this global crisis did not impact Asia/Pacific SMBs the same way across the board.

Hence, it cannot be ignored that more SMBs are focused in advancing their digitalization journeys and accelerating their road to recovery, with the objective of embedding agility and resiliency to perform effectively in an increasingly volatile environment and prepare themselves to future disruptions.

Aside from introducing initiatives to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic, Asia/Pacific SMBs need to create long-term road maps that will enable them to flourish in a post-COVID-19 pandemic world. They must enact the appropriate measures to become a digital SMB, which IDC defines as an ecosystem- and technology-first company that augments its presence and capabilities to achieve sustainable business growth, productivity, and competitiveness.
