SMB Cloud Adoption Characteristics and Market Potential in Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) 2022–2025
Abstract
This IDC Presentation is a continuation of the SMB Market Landscape and State of Digitalization 2022 study. It makes references to the IDC Asia/Pacific Public Cloud Survey 2021 and IDC 1Q22 SMB Survey to assess Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) small and medium-sized businesses' (SMBs) state of cloud adoption and market characteristics. IDC also identified key inhibitors in SMB's cloud adoption and implementation in order to achieve business priorities and agility. IDC discovered there are only 31% digitally determined among SMBs and identified untapped, high growth potentials in those SMBs, which are at the start of their digital transformation (DX) journey, to be captured by technology suppliers.
57% of APEJ SMBs will increase IT spending this year, andIDC forecasts that their cloud spend will increase 31% from last year and continue growing into 2025. To conclude, IDC provides essential guidance to technology suppliers on how to capture these untapped, high growth white spaces with targeted sales engagements, suitable products and services, tools, capabilities, and value proposition unique to these SMBs, whichdiffer in sizes, cloud adoption journey, and operate in very mixed, complex environments.
