IDC Survey Spotlight: How Has the COVID-19 Pandemic Influenced Southeast Asia's Digital-First Strategy Adoption and Tech Vendor Partnerships?
Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight provides an insight into Southeast Asia enterprises' approach to adopting digital-first strategy in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. Based on data from IDC's 2022 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey Wave 2, 54% of organizations that were surveyed across three Southeast Asia countries — Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore — stated that the COVID-19 pandemic disruptions have (i) prompted them to quickly shift to a digital-first strategy — that they continue to extend — or (ii) highlighted the need for a digital-first strategy — that they are starting to execute.
IDC's Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 2 was completed in March 2022, consisting of inputs from 93 decision makers from organizations with more than 500 employees in Singapore, Malaysia, and Indonesia and across a range of industries.
"Digital infrastructure is becoming more important in Southeast Asia's businesses, in line with a larger regional trend, allowing them to revolutionize company processes and services with elasticity, speed, and scalability," says Khairil Anwar, research manager, Asia/Pacific Research, IT Services at IDC.
