On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Market Presentation examines the results of IDC's 2021 Future of Digital Innovation Survey, comparing the results of U.S. and Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ) respondents.

"IDC's 2021 Future of Digital Innovation Survey uncovered some regional nuances in terms of building software innovation capacity in the enterprise," says Nancy Gohring, research director, IDC's Future of Digital Innovation agenda program. "We found that APEJ is ahead of the pack in terms of adopting digital innovation programs and taking action close to the developer skills gap, suggesting that U.S. organizations can look to their counterparts in APEJ for guidance," she adds.

"APEJ enterprises were the first to suffer the COVID-19 pandemic, and they were the first to rebound with software innovation capabilities," says Gina Smith, PhD, research manager for software and services, IDC Asia/Pacific. "These comparative results demonstrate evolving software innovation practices," she adds.
