Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight provides insight into Southeast Asia enterprises' digital transformation (DX) spending trends, following the transition into the COVID-19 endemic period. Based on data from IDC's 2022 Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 4, more than 25% of respondents from Southeast Asia organizations in Malaysia and Indonesia stated that their businesses' resilience, employee productivity, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction have improved by 25–30% annually, as a result of their investments in DX.

2022 is a year for Southeast Asia enterprises to reassess their DX investment strategy to align with their business priorities. This document highlights manufacturing, retail, and financial institution's business priority and DX investment focus area to allow them to have the ability to rapidly adapt to business disruptions by leveraging digital capabilities not only to focus on business continuity but also to capitalize on the new normal.

IDC's Future Enterprise Resiliency and Spending Survey, Wave 4, completed in May 2022, consists of inputs from 80 decision makers from organizations with more than 500 employees in Malaysia and Indonesia and across various industries.
