On-line Presentation

This IDC Survey highlights the results from IDC Government Insights' 2021 Asia/Pacific (Excluding Japan) (APEJ) Survey, covering federal/national governments. This survey focuses on functional segments, such as human resources (HR), finance, defense, public safety, economic affairs, transportation, ICT, environmental protection, community affairs, health, recreation, culture, education, and social protection. The survey analysis addresses 195 respondents for federal/national governments out of a total of 390 respondents (including state/local governments).

This survey analysis reveals the trend of emerging technologies in the region, readiness and driving forces for data sharing, and approach toward the future of ecosystem and future of operations by respective federal/national government bodies in Asia/Pacific.

"Although the COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the true meaning of digital government, it is time for governments to think ahead and prepare to scale their digital plans and strategies. Through reliable planning and execution, with increased focus on emerging technologies, and by data sharing and governance, governments will be able to see the real benefits of digitalization, such as cost savings, productivity gains, and increased service satisfaction," says Jezamin Abdul Razak, senior research manager, IDC Government Insights, IDC Southeast Asia.
