Abstract

This IDC Survey explores the Asia/Pacific results of IDC’s 2021 Worldwide CEO Survey to provide insights into CEOs’ views on technology leadership and the CIO. The study findings are designed to help tech vendors understand how to meet the changing priorities of the CEO and can serve as peer reference research for CEOs in the enterprise. The survey also investigates how the current economic environment is affecting CEOs and examines business and board priorities, spending plans, investment focus, skills requirement, the role of tech leadership, and vendor selection. This analysis is based on a subset of Asia/Pacific (including Japan) (APJ) respondents to IDC’s 2021 Worldwide CEO Survey conducted in December 2021 and January 2022. Respondents included 123 organizations from Asia/Pacific. The survey targets (deputy/business unit) CEOs and managing directors and provides an unprecedented view of CEO priorities, strategies, and plans for the post-COVID-19 pandemic era.

This document is part four of five in a series of surveys examining CEOs’ perspectives on priorities, digital-first strategies, tech spending, leadership, and strategic vendor partners. It focuses on CEOs’ technology spending initiatives and priorities in a digital-first world.
