Abstract
This IDC study presents the top 10 predictions and key drivers for the IT industry for the next five years in Asia/Pacific (excluding Japan) (APEJ). It highlights the midterm and long-term challenges that enterprise IT teams face as they define, build, and govern the technologies required to thrive in a digital-first world.
"We have officially entered the era of the digital business. In the past two years, enterprises have stepped up significantly to overcome the challenges of the pandemic, scaling up digital investments across all industries and pushing their digital product/service contributions from less than 5% to at least 25% of their overall revenue. Therefore, in this era, we see the shift toward running a digital business. It marks a new generation of thinking that focuses on purpose-driven values, leading to financial results, ecosystem participation in the value chain, and sustainability as core operating principles. The enterprises that can close the new digital gap through the greatest business value (financials, ecosystem, and sustainability) impact will become market leaders of tomorrow," according to Sandra Ng, group VP and general manager, IDC APJ Research.
