Abstract
This IDC Survey Spotlight shows a contrast in optimization levels with respect to specialized compute workloads in datacenters located at core and at edge. While edge computing has gained traction in recent years, the majority of AI/machine learning (ML) workloads still run in core datacenters because of the concentration of compute and storage resources at the core.
This spotlight leverages a question asked in the IDC APEJ Datacenter Operations Survey (n = 853), which was conducted in late 2022.
