Canadian Enterprise Unified Communications and Collaboration-as-a-Service Market Shares, 2016: Enabling CSPs of the Future

By: Lawrence SurteesResearch Vice President, Communications

Abstract

This IDC study examines cloud-based unified communications and collaboration as a service (UCCaaS) in Canadian enterprises and should be used as an adjunct to our first forecast of the Canadian hosted UCC-as-a-service market (see Lawrence Surtees and Nikhil Anand, Canadian Enterprise Unified Communications and Collaboration-as-a-Service Forecast, 2017–2021: CSPs of the Future, IDC Canada #CA41920817, September 2017). These studies are based on our more detailed forecasts contained in IDC Canada's Communications Market Model. Clients using this document are also urged to familiarize themselves with the telecom service taxonomy and segment definitions detailed in the Market Definition section of this document.

"The market for next-generation cloud-based UCCaaS and voice services has become highly competitive in Canada and includes a variety of different services offered by a multiplicity of different providers," says study author Lawrence Surtees, vice president of Communications Research and principal analyst of IDC Canada. "Propelled by strong growth of cloud services, we believe the UCCaaS delivery model has become more popular than customer-owned premise-based services."
