On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Survey examines the adoption of platform as a service (PaaS) and infrastructure as a service (IaaS) in Canada. It covers the transition from on premises to cloud. It covers criteria for selection of potential cloud vendors, the technologies organizations are seeking via their cloud providers, and the criteria for organizations when deciding which applications to migrate to the cloud. This survey draws responses from 300 organizations surveyed as part of IDC Canada's 2020 Business and IT Advisory Panel Survey n2. It covers responses from both lines-of-business and IT decision-making functions. It also draws responses from 192 Canadian organizations surveyed as a part of IDC's 2020 Worldwide Industry CloudPath Survey. This survey covered IT decision makers.

"Canadian organizations expect to allocate a greater proportion of their IT budgets towards cloud services over the next two years. The adoption of PaaS and IaaS continues to accelerate, with many workloads augmenting existing on-premises solutions." — Megha Kumar, research director, Software and Cloud Services, IDC Canada.
