Trending Now: Canadian Consumer — The Future for (Hybrid) Work — 1Q22 Hot Topic
Abstract
This IDC Market Presentation highlights Canadian consumer behaviour as it relates to "consumer-employee" work-from-home realities that have had to manage over the past two years. It presents findings from IDC Canada's most recent consumer survey toward work-from-home, home office arrangements and consumer-employee intentions toward hybrid work, along with future expectations of their employer as Canadians transition toward a post-COVID-19 pandemic reality.
For the purpose of this document, the term consumer-employee is defined as a consumer who is at least 18 years of age and works from home for some portion of the work week. This consumer-employee must be employed either full time or part time. Alternatively, the consumer-employee may be business owners or self-employed. Working students and semi-retired are also included.
This document provides insights to manage inevitable organizational change for leaders who wish to better facilitate consumer-employee transition to post-pandemic working arrangements.
Additional insight/commentary is available on request.
