Abstract

This IDC MarketScape study is the first vendor assessment of the Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (CEMA) managed workflow services market using the IDC MarketScape model. This assessment discusses both quantitative and qualitative characteristics that explain success in this growing market. Managed workflow services represent the most mature segment of the managed print and document services market and contribute to the overall workflow automation and optimization services market.

This study provides a visual presentation of the resulting vendor analysis in a single bubble chart. This display concisely exhibits the quantified ratings of the reviewed vendors along two axes — strategies and capabilities — which determine if the vendor is a Leader, a Major Player, a Contender, or a Participant. The study also provides vendor summaries that discuss IDC's positioning of each vendor in the market along with commentary on strengths reflected in their scoring and opportunities for improvement. The study provides specific guidance for organizations considering a managed workflow services — or a managed print and document services — engagement.

"The managed workflow services market in CEMA is still very immature in terms of buyer demand, but adoption is expected to increase quickly. Organizations are increasingly under pressure, not only to optimize their printing and imaging infrastructures to realize cost savings and optimized implementations but also to further assess and optimize business-critical document workflows with the aim of boosting productivity and business process efficiency in order to stay competitive. In light of the substantial and often disruptive impact of rapid advancements in cloud, Big Data analytics, social media, and mobile technologies have on organizations today, customers need to assess those workflows that are critical to their businesses and choose solutions that enable them to shape the competitive workplace of the future, as well as to maximize their own customers' digital experience. Managed workflow services market players are continuously developing their offerings to address challenging front- and back-office processes in their customers' organizations, from entry-level workflow solutions targeting printing process optimization up to fully automated functional and industry-specific document workflow solutions. This study identifies the IDC MarketScape Leaders and Major Players that comprise the current managed workflow services landscape." — Senior Program Manager Tobias Kleu, Imaging, Printing, and Document Solutions, IDC Central Europe
