Device as a Service: The Industry's Inflection Point

By: Linn HuangResearch Vice President, Devices & Displays

Abstract

These event proceedings were presented at the IDC Directions conferences in Santa Clara in February 2018.

Device as a service (DaaS) has the potential to upend corporate IT procurement, provisioning, and management with substantial and far-reaching impact on adopters and their users. Promises of cost savings, accelerated refresh, and reduction of IT workload will resonate strongly with IT buyers as well as reshape the competitive landscape of the commercial device channel. This session provides IDC's perspective on the DaaS market as it graduates from a crawl into a walk.
