This IDC Perspective summarizes the key highlights from the two-day IDC Pan-European Manufacturing Summit which took place in November 2017 in Dublin. The report provides an overview of the key discussion themes and outcomes of the fifth edition of the summit, which was attended by about 50 C-level delegates from manufacturing companies across 15 European countries. It also includes the results of a pre-event delegate survey which provide a snapshot of the current state of digital transformation in European manufacturing.
Summit delegates agreed that change management plays a critical role for digital transformation. "If you can manage to convey the business benefits and address the 'what's in it for me?' question in your organization, you are already in the process of securing commitment, which is key for progressing along the digital transformation journey," said Maggie Slowik, senior research analyst at IDC Manufacturing Insights EMEA.
