This IDC Presentation analyzes the results of an IDC survey on expectations regarding the expenditure, structure, and ownership of IT budgets among European hospitals. The data analyzed in this document comes from the healthcare provider sample of IDC's European Vertical Markets Survey, 2018-2019. The hospital sample consists of 194 respondents.
IDC's European Vertical Markets Survey is an annual landmark study of IT solutions, investment priorities, and emerging technologies. This year, the sample covers over 77% of European economy (in terms of GDP of the 40 countries), with the inclusion of Russia, Poland, and the Czech Republic. The results are analyzed by vertical market and company size, and they will be the basis for a series of demand-side reports to be published under the European Vertical Markets and European Small and Medium Business Markets services, as well as in select European Industry Insights research services.
"European hospitals have an overall positive business outlook. IT budget spending decision making is progressively managed by administrative executives, especially in Central Europe. The Western European trend points toward a more balanced approach in which there is collaboration between IT and different lines of business," said Giulia Besana, research analyst, and Silvia Piai, senior research manager at IDC.
