This IDC Market Perspective examines key points during the Google Cloud Next conference held in London on October 10 and 11, 2018. The conference had more than 10,000 attendees and 1,300 partners, with 450 leaders attending the Leader's Circle and over 125 content session. This is double up from the last Google Next conference in Europe 17 months prior. Google showed the momentum in its cloud business, customer and partner success stories and several new product launches and vertical solutions.
"Google must accelerate its momentum in the European enterprise market to catch up with AWS and Microsoft. With its new offerings around AI, the Google Cloud Services Platform (which extends into on-premises environments), IoT initiatives, and the launch of its new partner program in 2019, Google is poised for a good start," said Carla Arend, senior research director, European Cloud Research.
