On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Survey presents a subset of results from IDC's 2019 European Enterprise Mobility Survey. It aims to understand enterprises' key strategic mobile device initiatives, from investment priorities to strategies and key deployments. This presentation highlights and analyzes some of the key results and changes for Western Europe (WE) and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

Mobility has a leading position among companies' ICT priorities. New technologies and technological developments are driving increased interest among enterprises, as they show strong purchasing intentions for 5G devices, cellular tablets, and notebooks. Enterprises see an opportunity to increase productivity and efficiency through these new devices. Enterprises continue to use smartphones and notebooks as the primary mobile devices to enable their mobile workforces. However, interest in other product types such as smartwatches and smart speakers are starting to rise.

The annual European Enterprise Mobility Survey was conducted in August 2019. This survey helps companies track rapid transitions in the highly competitive and fast-moving marketplace. For the purpose of this study, 1,800 businesses across 21 countries in Western and Central Europe were surveyed.

The charts in this presentation only show the results at total level. Breakdowns by country, company size, and industry sector are available upon request.
