On-line Presentation

Abstract

This IDC Survey Spotlight examines the most important skills in Europe across three technology areas: software/application development, IT infrastructure, and digital transformation. The document contains data from IDC's Technology Skills Survey, completed in December 2018. This global survey focuses on the technology skills needed for important technologies and how organizations and individuals are obtaining these skills. This IDC Survey Spotlight presents the three most important skills selected by survey respondents out of the given 60 different skill sets in three different technology areas.

"The widening skills gap in Europe continues to affect technology service providers and buyers equally. Organizations increasingly realize that the impact of skill shortage is not just confined to IT departments alone — it has a wider impact that can stunt an organization's ability to grow and innovate. Identifying important skills that are in short supply is the very first step in developing an efficient skills strategy to meet the future needs for talent," said Arun Dani, senior research analyst, IDC European Services.
