Abstract

This IDC Presentation focuses on the IDC European Tech and Industry Pulse Survey 2019-2020, carried out between August and November 2019 among 2,793 European organizations with more than 10 employees. The countries covered include the U.K., France, Germany, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, Russia, Czech Republic, and Poland, thus representing 77% of European Economy (in terms of GDP of 40 countries). This document shows the detailed methodology adopted to design and frame the survey. It also provides an overview of the sample and respondents' profile by vertical market, size, and functional area. The topics covered in the survey include IT spending and owners of IT budget, role of lines of business (LOB) in IT investments, business and IT security priorities, adoption and future deployments of the 4 pillar technologies (i.e., cloud, Big Data, social media, and mobility), adoption and use cases for Innovation Accelerators and other emerging technologies (Internet of Things or IoT, artificial intelligence or AI, robotics, augmented/virtual reality or AR/VR, 3D printing, blockchain, edge computing, quantum computing, 5G), insights into new trends (digital transformation, customer experience), vendor evaluations, and adoption of other vertical-specific IT solutions.

"Being the largest IDC European survey, the IDC European Tech and Industry Pulse Survey provides unique vertical specific insights into IT investment plans, keeping an eye on emerging technology and megatrends across European organizations," said Giulia Carosella, research analyst, IDC European Customer Insights & Analysis.
