Abstract

This IDC Webcast presents IDC's Philip Carter, Duncan Brown, and a host of leading European analysts discuss 3 waves of IDC's biweekly IT buyer sentiment survey data, looking at the impact of COVID-19 on tech buyers in Europe. The team will provide a perspective on the journey to recovery in the region, as well as guidance on how organizations can navigate the uncertain landscape they're currently faced with.

The survey highlights that although most organizations are anticipating a significant decline in revenue as a result of COVID-19, only a limited number plan to reduce IT spending. This indicates that technology for many organizations will play a crucial part in addressing the challenges of the crisis and eventual recovery, as opposed to something that many will look to cut.

The webcast also includes technology-specific analysis from IDC Research's Carla Arend, Andrew Buss, Danielle Hernandez, Oru Mohiuddin, Jennifer Thomson, and Jack Vernon:

  • Enterprise infrastructure
  • PaaS and software development tools
  • Unified communications & collaboration
  • SaaS
  • Artificial intelligence

The webcast will show how different technology areas are both impacted by COVID-19 but also play vital roles in the recovery.

IDC's European IT Buyers Sentiment Survey is a dedicated, biweekly IT buyer survey that polls European digital leaders on their organizations' digital investment plans in light of COVID-19 scenarios:

  • 500+ IT buyer respondents
  • Geos: Czech Republic, France, Germany, Italy, the Nordics, Poland, Romania, Russia, the U.K.
  • 3 Biweekly waves completed so far, 6 waves in total
