Although the COVID-19 pandemic and the disruption it left in its wake was the biggest story of Q1 2020, several significant developments occurred within the European Internet of Things (IoT) market during this period. Several project wins, product launches, new partnerships, and acquisitions were publicly announced; in addition, vendors addressed security challenges and made progress with respect to IoT standards. This document presents a non-exhaustive sample of IoT-related news and developments across the European market.

"Although COVID-19 was the key news item in Q1 2020, there were nonetheless several interesting IoT projects and developments during this period. IoT connectivity enhancements and eSIM adoption will enable further development of IoT use cases, while projects in transportation, utilities, Smart Cities, and private mobile networks will highlight the expanding opportunities in the market."
