Abstract

This IDC Survey references data from IDC's European Big Data and Analytics Software Forecast, 2020–2024, published in March 2021. The report provides insights into the Big Data and analytics (BDA) market, including how organizations are approaching BDA and analytics solutions investments. In the context of the impact of the COVID-19 crisis, the document provides an in-depth look at:

  • The current penetration of, and appetite for, BDA solutions
  • The benefits of, and challenges to, maintaining a resilient organization
  • The most-used data storage and analytic solutions
  • Cloud adoption and migration plans

The data is based on feedback from 763 organizations across Europe that have at least 50 employees. Respondents must have a C-level or a management/head position and be involved in IT strategy decision making.

“Organizations in Europe have shown increased demand for various analytical approaches to support efforts to deal with the unprecedented challenges brought about by the COVID‐19 pandemic. Changes in customer behavior and expectations have opened up new business opportunities in the enterprise analytics market.” — Senior Research Analyst Wiktor Markiewicz, IDC EMEA
