Abstract

This IDC Survey focuses on European IT buyers' reaction to the COVID-19 pandemic. It analyzes the expected impact of the pandemic on the IT spending, technology investments, and digital transformation (DX) projects of European end-user companies in 2020 and 2021, providing IT vendors with actionable insights on how to face the radical changes taking place.

The presentation is based on the results of IDC's European IT Buyer Sentiment Survey, involving more than 700 organizations across 11 European subregions (i.e., the U.K., France, Germany, the Nordics, Russia, Italy, Poland, Romania, Czech Republic, Adriatic, and Spain) and five vertical sectors (i.e., public sector, financial services, manufacturing/utilities, retail/wholesale/transportation, and telecom/media/business services). The survey comprises six consecutive waves running every two weeks from March 23 to June 8, 2020. Reports leveraging the survey data will be published monthly till the end of June. The current report focuses on the results of Wave 6 (June 8-12) and Wave 5 (May 18-25), comparing them with the results of Wave 4 (May 4-11), Wave 3 (April 20-27), Wave 2 (April 6-13), and Wave 1 (March 23-27) to follow buyer sentiment evolution throughout the six waves of the survey.
