IDC TechBrief: Digital Technologies for Mental Health
By: Giulia Besana Research Analyst, Nino Giguashvili Senior Research Analyst
Abstract
This IDC TechBrief discusses the adoption and integration of digital technologies into mental health care plans. Digitally enabled mental health technologies can greatly support access to mental health care, enable care continuity, and improve patient outcomes and experiences, particularly challenged by the COVID-19 crisis.
"Mental health care provider organizations willing to innovate and extend their mental care delivery offerings need to set a clear, enterprisewide digital strategy that supports an intelligent platform capable of enabling use cases that closely align with the organization's vision and maturity," said Giulia Besana, research analyst, IDC Health Insights Europe.
"Disruptions caused by COVID-19 have increased urgency to take vigorous efforts in curbing the exponential growth of mental health burdens in Europe. Well-designed strategies leveraging integrated digital technologies to enable orchestrated mental healthcare services will be paramount to avoid the next major public health crisis in Europe due to unmet mental health needs," adds Nino Giguashvili, senior analyst, IDC Health Insights Europe.
