Women in Tech Series: Inclusion and Diversity in the Tech Workforce — TietoEVRY Recruitment Builds Diversity

By: Martin SundbladResearch Manager

Abstract

This IDC Market Note analyzes and presents learnings from TietoEVRY's strategy for inclusion and diversity. Despite efforts to provide gender balance in Europe, the percentage of females in ICT specialist roles remains at 17% in Europe and 21% in the Nordics, number that has not changed much during the past decade. Organizations need to learn from peers in how to improve the balance and provide a more efficient approach to balancing the genders.

"TietoEVRY's approach has many advantages and should be considered by companies striving for inclusion and gender diversity. A stunning amount of research shows that increased diversity improves innovation, collaboration, and resiliency in organizations, but efforts so far have not increased neither the number of female graduates from STEM educations nor the number of females in ICT roles," says Martin Sundblad, research manager and head of the European Skills Practice at IDC.
