Abstract

This IDC Survey presents a subset of results from IDC's 2021 European Enterprise Mobility and Devices Survey. It aims to identify enterprises' key strategic mobile device initiatives, from investment priorities to strategies and key deployments. In this presentation, some key results and changes are highlighted and analyzed for Western Europe (WE) and Central and Eastern Europe (CEE).

COVID-19 caused an enormous change in the way we do work. The shift to "mobile first" among enterprises will become more apparent in the next few years with the increase in hybrid workers. Mobile device utilization models are evolving just like other aspects of our lives. The "always on" working culture and the proliferation of 5G-enabled devices will present opportunities for growth. Hosted and managed services accessible from any workplace will proliferate to simplify workers' activities and IT management from companies.

The annual European Enterprise Mobility and Devices Survey was conducted in November 2021. This survey helps companies track rapid transitions in the highly competitive and fast-moving marketplace and covers essential questions that help determine enterprises' mobility strategies in terms of connectivity, software, and security and device procurement. For the purpose of this study, 1,167 businesses across 11 countries in WE and CEE were surveyed. It provides key findings and strategic advice for technology and services providers.

Charts in this presentation only show the results at the total level. Breakdowns by country, company size, and industry sector are available on request.
